New Board Member

Ms Liz Sinclair MNZOM has been appointed a Member of the Authority for a three year term beginning immediately. Liz has over 30 years public sector experience primarily in executive leadership roles, such as Deputy Secretary for Justice and Deputy Commissioner State Services Commission, relating to strategy, corporate management, service delivery and major change programmes. Her roles have also given her extensive exposure to machinery of government, Crown-Māori, information privacy/security and health and safety system issues. She currently holds a number of governance roles in the public sector, and also conducts independent reviews and executive mentoring.

Current member, Simon Murdoch CNZM, has also been reappointed for a further three year term.

Liz replaces Ms Dianne Macaskill who was a member of the Authority since her appointment in on 5 August 2010. Dianne's tenure has overseen significant change in both the reach and scope of the work of the Authority. In particular, she had significant influence in improving the Authority's connection with the community and the people the Authority serves. Her encouragement in the development of the Authority's use of digital media (including its website and social media) is an example.

Dianne's contribution over nearly 10 years has been outstanding and NZ Police and the community generally, owe her their gratitude.
