In addition to public holidays the Authority is closed on the Tuesday following Easter Monday and the days between Boxing day and New Year's Day
The Authority can provide an interpreter on the phone for people who wish to use a language other than English. This is a free service called Language Line.
Call the IPCA on 0800 503 728 and tell us what language you speak. Ask for Language Line. You will be asked to wait on the telephone (do not hang up).
Language Line is available 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
People who have hearing or speech impairment or are Deaf or Deafblind, can phone the IPCA through NZ Relay.
NZ Relay is a free national service that supports people to use the phone. All calls are private and strictly confidential.
Information on using NZ Relay is available on their website and by contacting the NZ Relay Helpdesk.
People who are Deaf and use New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) can contact the IPCA through the Video Interpreting Service (VIS). VIS is a NZ Relay service and all calls are private and strictly confidential.
VIS is free and is available for phone calls and in-person meetings, 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
