The Authority oversaw a Police investigation following a complaint that an officer assaulted a person known to them, while off duty. Police completed a criminal investigation and determined that although there was evidence of an assault, it was not in the public interest to proceed with a criminal prosecution. Instead, Police pursued a restorative process with the officer successfully completing all conditions.
An employment investigation found that the officer’s behaviour constituted serious misconduct.
The Authority is satisfied with the Police’s investigation into this matter and agrees with the outcomes reached.
