The Authority oversaw a Police investigation after a man complained that an officer punched him in the face while he was handcuffed after being arrested for a driving offence.
The officer resigned from Police shortly after this.
Police investigated under the Authority's oversight and charged the officer with assault. The officer was also charged with perverting the course of justice, having encouraged a colleague to give a false account of what had happened.
The matter is currently awaiting an outcome from the court.
The Authority is satisfied with the Police investigation into this matter and agrees with the outcome reached.
