Investigation into allegation of sexual assault not upheld

28 May 2025

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into an allegation that a Police officer sexually assaulted a woman on several occasions between 2006-2018.

Police became aware of this matter after a medical professional sought Police advice on behalf of a female patient who wanted to complain about the officer’s treatment of her.

Police completed enquiries and interviewed the woman but did not identify any instances of non-consensual sexual activity. No employment concerns regarding the officer’s conduct were identified.

The Authority accepts that reasonable enquiries were completed by Police and that it is not possible to progress the woman’s complaint further.
