Officer searched vehicle registration information at wife’s request

The Authority oversaw a Police employment process in respect of an officer who queried a vehicle’s registration information in the Police database at the request of his wife. The officer was off-duty at the time and was asked to confirm whether a particular vehicle belonged to the partner of one his wife’s colleagues.

The officer later disclosed the query to his supervisor.

The Authority is satisfied with the process and the outcome reached.
