The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into an officer who allegedly drove across Police districts to spend time with his partner whilst he was on-duty. The officer also allegedly queried his partner in the Police database.
The Police investigation found that officer did in fact visit his partner on a number of occasions for purely personal reasons. However, the query on the officer’s partner was for a legitimate work purpose, likely conducted during a traffic stop prior to when the two were in a relationship.
Police carried out an employment process for the officer.
The Authority is satisfied with how Police carried out the investigation and agrees with the outcome reached.
