The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into a complaint alleging that an officer in Counties Manukau had visited his partner multiple times while on duty and in uniform, and spent extended periods of time engaging in non- work-related activity with her, including attending a party. It was reported that the officer took work calls at her address and turned off his location services.
The Police investigation found that the officer’s actions breached the Police code of conduct, and he was sanctioned.
The Authority is satisfied with the Police investigation and agrees with its findings.
