The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into an allegation an officer stood on the head of a man during an arrest.
The criminal investigation found enough evidence to charge the officer with assault. However, the public interest test was not met, so no charges were laid.
The subsequent employment process found the officer’s use of force was inappropriate and breached Police policy. The officer was sanctioned for their actions.
The Authority agrees with the outcomes of the investigation.
