27 July 2023

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation from Tasman District into a complaint alleging an officer had accessed the Police database for personal reasons and shared that information with a third-party.

The Police investigation found the officer had accessed the Police database for legitimate work purposes. The investigation found no evidence of the officer providing any confidential information to a third-party.

The Authority is satisfied with how the Police conducted their investigation and the outcome they reached.
