The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into a complaint which alleged that an officer acted inappropriately towards a person who was considering a career in Police. The officer sent inappropriate images, videos and text messages to the potential recruit, and crossed the professional boundary that exists between a Police officer and a potential recruit.
Police concluded that the officer’s actions were inappropriate, and breached Police policies and the Code of Conduct. The officer resigned and therefore no employment action was taken.
The Authority agrees with the outcome of the Police investigation.
