An off-duty officer was stopped at an alcohol checkpoint in Northcote. He was uncooperative with Police and refused to undergo a roadside breath test. After repeatedly refusing to accompany officers, he was arrested and subsequently charged with driving with excess blood alcohol and refusing to accompany Police.
The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into whether the officer’s behaviour breached the Code of Conduct, however the officer resigned before the employment process was completed.
The Authority is satisfied with how Police conducted the employment process.
