The Authority received a complaint about Police using their in-vehicle public address system (loud hailer) to indicate they were at the address to check whether the occupant was complying with a condition of his Court ordered bail. We raised this with Police because we considered the officer's actions amounted to a breach of the person's privacy.
While Police explained they did this after door knocking had failed to alert the person, Police agreed with the Authority's assessment and apologised to the person involved.
