A person was issued with a Written Traffic Warning for careless driving without Police speaking to him about the incident. As he hadn't been spoken to, he hadn't accepted fault for the incident which is required under Police policy before such a warning can be issued.
The Authority discussed this with Police who withdrew the warning, apologised to the person and the officer who issued the warning was reminded of the correct process for issuing Written Traffic Warnings.
