A person raised concerns after discovering a roadside suspension and a charge for driving whilst forbidden from the late 2000s were recorded in his Police records. The complainant believed these records were wrong.
After reviewing the Police records and identifying several potential issues with how they were connected to the complainant, the Authority discussed the matter with Police. Following this, Police conducted a review of the records and acknowledged the likelihood that the complainant was not the person involved in these events.
However, due to the age of the incident and what records were still available, it was not possible to conclusively determine if the complainant was involved or not. Police contacted the complainant to explain the outcome of their review and discuss potential remedial actions.
Police have subsequently amended their records to reflect the outcome of their review process.
