A Police Officer in Central District has been found to have accessed the Police national database without authorisation. A family friend asked the officer to access information relating to his demerit points as he was seeking to join NZ Police. The officer accessed this information and disclosed it. This was also held to be a conflict of interest. The matter was dealt with by way of a confidential employment process. The Authority agrees with the outcome.
