Police Officer in Northland displays inappropriate and disrespectful behaviour

19 August 2020

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into numerous allegations made against a Police Officer during his secondment as a Police Mentor on a New Zealand Defence Force run programme. The majority of the allegations were upheld including him picking up a colleague, hugging and attempting to kiss a colleague, manhandling a colleague and making inappropriate comments. The Authority agrees with the findings of the employment investigation. The Police officer resigned from Police at the conclusion of the investigation.
