Officer accused of threatening to assault ex-wife

2 October 2019

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into an incident reported to Police in July 2018, where it was alleged that an off-duty Police officer in Canterbury District advanced aggressively towards his ex-partner and threatened to assault her when she dropped their child off at his address.

Police found insufficient evidence to charge the officer with an offence. Police also determined that there was insufficient evidence to take any employment action.

The Authority's review of the Police investigation agreed with the finding and the outcome.
