The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into a complaint where an officer had written a character reference for his girlfriend without authorisation, as required in the Conflict of Interest Policy. The investigation found he had breached Policy and furthermore had knowingly provided inaccurate information in the reference and attempted to use his authority to obtain information about his girlfriend's application to join the Police force. His conduct was addressed through an employment process which applied an appropriate outcome. The Authority agreed with the Police finding and the outcome.
