The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into the conduct of a Canterbury District Police officer who was suspected of conspiring to defeat the course of justice by failing to promptly comply with a direction given by a supervising officer.
The Authority agreed with the finding of the investigation that the officer's conduct did not amount to an offence but constituted a performance issue. The officer's behaviour was addressed as part of an employment process and an appropriate sanction was imposed.
