Officer fires rifle out of a living room window

5 November 2019

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into the actions of a police recruit in the Tasman District who videoed himself firing a rifle out a window of a home and then sent the video to his colleagues.

The investigation found the actions did not amount to a criminal offence and his conduct was addressed through an employment process which applied an appropriate outcome. The Authority agreed with the Police finding and the outcome.
