Allegation of sexual violation by officers during arrest

5 November 2019

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into an allegation that two Police officers sexually violated a woman during her arrest in 2001 in Canterbury District. Police conducted a full criminal investigation and found insufficient evidence to warrant a prosecution. Police took no further action.

The Authority's review of the Police investigation agreed with the finding and the outcome.
