Police notified the Authority of an incident where an off-duty Police officer from Auckland City District was suspected of speeding. This was reported by the Police helicopter (Eagle). The Authority oversaw a Police investigation which resulted in disciplinary proceedings for the officer. It was determined that the Eagle video footage did not provide sufficient evidence for a prosecution as it is not an approved speed detection device and the accuracy of its speed readings is not certified.
