The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into a notification from the Royal New Zealand Police College where it was alleged two recruits had breached COVID-19 vaccine certificate orders.
A criminal investigation determined the recruits acted unlawfully and criminal charges could be laid, but the decision was made not to, as it was not in the public interest to do so. An employment process found the recruits’ actions breached the Police code of conduct, and they were sanctioned for their actions. The Authority agrees with the employment outcome.
