Waikato Police officer investigated for Trespass and allowing access to his Police phone

29 August 2022

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into an allegation an officer trespassed on his ex-partner’s property and allowed her access to his work phone. Police investigated the allegations, charged the officer for the trespass, and commenced an employment investigation.

While the trespass complaint was upheld, there was insufficient evidence regarding whether the officer allowed his ex-partner access to his work phone.

The officer resigned from Police during the employment process.

The Authority is satisfied with how Police conducted their investigations and the outcomes they reached.
