Counties Manukau Police unable to immediately execute a search warrant to retrieve stolen trailer

16 March 2022

Police located a stolen trailer on someone else's property. The owner of the trailer complained to the Authority that Police knew where the trailer was but didn’t retrieve it. Police explained to the Authority that due to Covid restrictions in place, Police were unable to execute a search warrant obtained from the Court to retrieve the trailer.

Police agreed with the Authority that Police explain the situation to the complainant and to give an update on the case. Once the Covid restrictions eased, Police were able to execute the search warrant and the trailer has since been returned to its rightful owner.
