The Authority received a complaint Police had failed to return two confiscated phones to a person following the completion of the court process.
After intervention from the Authority, Police acknowledged there had been poor record keeping which led to this oversight. They met with the complainant to explain, apologise, and return the phones. They also spoke with the staff involved to improve their knowledge and understanding of exhibit handling processes.
