Off duty officer in Auckland City involved in an altercation and throws a bottle hitting a member of the public

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into an allegation an off-duty officer had been involved in an altercation which ended in him throwing a bottle which hit a member of the public.

A criminal investigation found there was not enough evidence to charge the officer who was dealt with via an appropriate employment sanction.

The Authority agreed with the findings and the outcome.
