The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into a complaint where a senior Police officer in the Bay of Plenty District admitted he repeatedly made racist comments in front of colleagues. Police deemed the officer's behaviour to be misconduct as it was in breach of their Values and Code of Conduct. The Authority is satisfied Police showed no tolerance of the behaviour and sought to address it in a manner that promotes a safe work environment.
