A person complained about Police service following the death of a family member.
Following the Authority raising several questions about their actions, Police reviewed their file and acknowledged they had not stayed in contact with the family as much as they should have at what was a traumatic time for the family.
Police apologised to the family for this and actively supported them to obtain support during their difficult time.
In addition to the steps Police have taken with the family, Northland Police have used the identified failings as a learning opportunity for their staff.
