A person living overseas complained she had not received a response from New Zealand Police after making several online reports to them about being cyberbullied and poisoned while in New Zealand.
Police didn't have enough information to take further action and did not take the allegations further but did not tell the complainant of this outcome.
Following discussions with the Authority, Police obtained a statement from the complainant. After reviewing the information, Police then wrote to the complainant advising her of the outcome and explaining why no further action could be taken.
The Authority considers Police's final decision was appropriate in the circumstances.
