Police re-open an investigation into an assault in Counties/Manukau

7 September 2020

A person called 111 after a colleague was assaulted. Police were not able to attend immediately because there were no available officers. When Police did arrive, they didn't collect the CCTV footage of the incident from a local retailer. When the complainant phoned Police about this, they were told to obtain the footage themselves and take it into a Police station.

Following discussions with the Authority, Police apologised to the complainant for their initial response, have obtained the CCTV footage and are continuing to investigate the assault.
