A person raised concerns after seeing their date of birth included on the trespass notice Police served them. Police had entered the person's details onto the trespass notice and served it after being asked to by the person's neighbour. They had also given the person's neighbour a copy of the notice.
Police agreed with the Authority that it is not legally necessary for a trespassed person's date of birth to be on a trespass notice, and that Police breached the person's privacy by disclosing their date of birth to their neighbour.
Police have now removed the date of birth field from their trespass notice templates and apologised to the person.
