Allegations of misuse of a phone and dangerous driving

18 March 2019

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into a complaint where it was alleged that a Police officer accessed another person's cellphone without permission and on a later date followed his vehicle in a dangerous manner. After it was determined that the officer's actions did not meet the threshold for a criminal prosecution, Police carried out an employment investigation. The complaint was found to be not upheld by Police and the Authority agreed with the finding.
