Annual Report 2008

During the 2007/08 year, the Independent Police Conduct Authority:

• increased its capacity for independent investigation of complaints and incidents
• prioritised resources towards the most serious cases
• resolved complaints more promptly than in the past – achieving an 87 percent reduction in the number of complaints that were with the Authority for 12 months or more
• increased transparency and accountability through increased public reporting
• enhanced communication with complainants
• worked towards changes in structure and operations which will contribute to further progress in 2008/09 and beyond.
